• Reclaiming Waste Areas

  By processing a waste material, slag, into useable products, Recmix benefits the environment my eliminating slag landfills and their associated concerns. Reclime® can be used in the treatment of acid mine drainage to benefit the environment. Additionally, the use of Recmix metal product and Reclime rather than raw materials reduces reliance on non-renewable natural resources and the disturbances associated with their mining.

  Since opening its first Pennsylvania facility, Recmix has processed more than two million tons of slag, eliminating huge waste piles form the landscape and reducing a longstanding environmental concern. Slag processed by other firms is frequently reprocessed a second time by Recmix. Using the Recmix method, slag is no longer landfilled, no longer an eyesore, but a valuable resource rather than an environmental threat.

  
  
• Environment-Friendly Manufacturing Process

  Our manufacturing process produces no waste materials. Water is recylced, and all slag derivatives are useful products.

• Awards

  Recmix received a Three Rivers Environ- mental Award in 1996, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and the Duquesne Light Company. One of the largest and most prestigious local awards programs in the United States, the Three Rivers Environ- mental Award pays tribute to individuals and organizations in western Pennsylvania that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence, leadership, and accomplishment in their respective fields.

  Recmix also received the Business for a Green America Award from the Pennsylvania Resources Council, the State's oldest citizen-action environmental organization. The award was presented to Recmix for using innovative technology to reduce waste.
